1852 Pattern U.S. Navy Officer’s Belt Buckle - Inventory Number: BEL 448
Outstanding example of the two-piece, tongue and wreath buckle constructed of gilt brass with a die struck disk. The belt loops and wreath are decorated with an oak leaf and acorn pattern, and the disk features an eagle perched on an anchor with an arc of stars. This pattern is listed in American Military Belt Plates by O’Donnell and Campbell. An attractive Civil War navy buckle.
