Classic Confederate D-Guard Bowie knife. The clip point blade was fashioned from a file with scattered pitting and measures 11” with a thickness of 3/16”, The grip is carved from a tree branch and has a copper ring bolster. The overall length is 16”. The knife was once part of the collections of authors William Albaugh III and Harold Petterson, as well as Albaugh’s illustrator Carl Pugliese. A fearsome Confederate edged weapon.G
