Signed in print on outer margins by lithographer “Libourel lith. May 1886” A beautiful chromolithograph by Bror Thure de Thulstrup. (c) 1886.  Rare large original publisher’s proofing edition from the printing office of L. Prang & Company (Boston).  Archival matting and backer board.   Born Bror Thure Thulstrup, he was a Swedish-born illustrator who, after emigrating to America, became one of the leading illustrators there, with contributions for numerous magazines, including three decades of work for Harper’s Weekly. Thulstrup primarily illustrated historical military scenes. 24” x 30”.
