A strong, honest field-used example of the regulation U.S. eagle breast plate, retaining a pleasing, naturally aged brass surface with warm, untouched patina. The Federal eagle remains clearly defined, with good detail throughout, showing the expected wear consistent with actual period use rather than excavation. 

The reverse retains both original iron attachment loops along with a solid, undisturbed lead fill. The absence of ground action and the presence of these original fastening elements firmly place this example in the category of non-excavated, field-carried equipment. A classic example offering strong eye appeal.
