Description
Confederate Bock Infantry “I” Button – E.M.L. & C., Richmond, Virginia
Civil War Confederate infantry coat button featuring a raised block “I” for Infantry on the face. The reverse retains its shank and bears the desirable “E.M.L. & C. / Richmond, Va.” backmark, a known Confederate button marking associated with Richmond.
The button retains a pleasing dark, untouched patina with age-related surface wear while the raised “I” remains well defined.
A nice example of a Richmond-marked Confederate infantry uniform button from the Civil War.
