RARE Baltimore, Maryland 1861 “Manual of Arms for the Minie Musket”

 

Adopted by the Board of Officers of the First Regt. Light Artillery, M. V. and used by the Baltimore City Guard’ Identified to: “C. Lamping, Company 3 B.B.C.G. 1863”.  Clemens Lamping [b. 1841] was a tobacco and commission merchant from Baltimore, MD. He served in Company 3 Brigade of the Baltimore City Guard, for whom this tactics manual was specifically designed. Maryland was split in its loyalty, as many served in both the Confederacy and the Union. The manual is Identified 1863, the year of Lee’s invasion through Maryland into PA. Very rare Maryland piece in great condition. Research included.

Comes housed in 12 x 8 riker display case with velvet and descriptive card.
