Collapsible Cup with Case - Civil War Era pewter collapsible traveling drinking cup with original tin case. In the collapsed position, this ingenious device consists of a pewter base with two separate but each slightly larger metal bands resting within the largest outer band. When the device is used for drinking, the outer bands are pulled up and extended to form a watertight metal cup that measures 3 1/8" high and a 2½" diameter when fully extended. The bottom is stamp "5". The matching circular tin case and case cap are in excellent condition. A great addition to a camp display and a necessary accoutrement for the civil war solider.
