    Ground Burst Confederate Read Shell  - Inventory Number: ART 232 

    Battle of Kearnstown, March 1862 - The opening battle of Confederate Major General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson's campaign through the Shenandoah Valley.  A unique display of an artillery shell which exploded in the ground.  These shell fragments and original fuse were diligently recovered by a relic hunter in the 1970's and displayed in this shadowbox.  Shadowbox measures 12 1/2" x 8" x 2 3/4".
