Louisiana Sword Belt Plate - Inventory Number: CON 125 / Sold
Sand-cast rectangular sword belt plate depicting elements of the Louisiana state seal. A pelican on a stippled field within a wreath device poised beneath a ribbon which reads: “Justice, Union and Confidence”. This highly detailed non-excavated sword belt plate measures approx. 50 mm x 80 mm. The face retains much of the original gold gilt finish, with only minor discoloration from wear and exposure to the natural elements. Present on the reverse is the original wide tongue to affix to a keeper device when mounted to a belt. A very nice original non-excavated example.
