NCO Swordbelt Plate - Rectangular plate with applied silver wreath and bench mark number "639". Plate has a raised spread-winged eagle and wreath. The field is coarsely stippled and there is a wide brass tongue on the reverse and a deep stamped "639". The top wings of the eagle, the shield on its chest and the wreath are very high and pronounced. The spread winged eagle has a shield on his breast gripping an olive branch with its right talon and holding three arrows in the left talon. A single row of eight 5-pointed stars sits above the motto, E. PLURIBUS UNUM". An applied silver wreath extends above the eagles wings. Very nice original Civil War Non-Commission Officers Sword Belt Plate. Attached is an old tag that reads: Buckle / found in old / barn in / Frankford / Township / N.J."
