Fine pair of Civil War U.S. Army infantry captain’s shoulder straps constructed with dark blue velvet fields, richly embroidered triple bullion borders, and applied gold captain’s bars. The deep blue velvet denotes infantry service, while the triple-border construction reflects the high-quality private purchase style commonly associated with officer-grade insignia of the period.

Both straps remain in excellent display condition, retaining strong color, attractive mellowed bullion, and crisp overall presentation. The straps exhibit the classic wartime form favored by Union officers and would display beautifully alongside an infantry frock coat, grouping, or identified officer material.
