Description

Remington New Model Police Percussion Revolver

A Remington New Model Police five-shot percussion revolver in .36 caliber with a 3½-inch octagonal barrel. The top barrel flat is marked:

“PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858 / E. REMINGTON & SONS / ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A. / NEW MODEL.”

Serial number 12733 is stamped beneath the barrel under the loading lever. The steel surfaces retain an attractive salt-and-pepper gray patina with scattered darker areas from age and use. The brass trigger guard displays a pleasing mustard-toned patina.

The loading lever and cylinder pin remain intact. The action functions properly, with the cylinder advancing and locking into place. The original walnut grips remain in excellent condition with only light wear. A handsome example of the scarce Remington New Model Police revolver retaining its original components.
