1851 Officer’s Sword Belt Plate – Inventory Number: BEL 534 / SOLD This is the sword belt plate worn by commissioned officers in the Union Army and by more than a few Confederate officers. Features an American eagle on the front with wings spread high grasping a banner in its beak that reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. The wreath is solid cast brass as is regulation for officer’s belt plates. The plate retains gold gilt on the face with even mellow patina. An attractive example with wide tongue found on 1863 and on examples. Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with red velvet and descriptive card.   Inventory Number: BEL 534 / SOLD
