Description
1907 Gettysburg Reunion Ribbon
13th Pennsylvania Cavalry
A vibrant and historically significant reunion ribbon from the 13th Pennsylvania Cavalry, commemorating the Gettysburg reunion held September 19th, 1907. Executed in bright yellow silk, the ribbon features bold black printed lettering reading “RE-UNION” above crossed cavalry sabers, with the unit designation and location prominently displayed below.
The ribbon remains visually striking, retaining strong color and clear legibility throughout. It exhibits expected age-related wear, including minor fraying along the edges, light staining, and a small area of separation at the center, all consistent with its age and use. Despite this, the piece displays exceptionally well and maintains strong eye appeal.
Veteran reunion ribbons such as this were cherished keepsakes, worn by surviving soldiers to commemorate their service and reunite with comrades decades after the war.
A scarce post-war artifact tied to one of Pennsylvania’s notable cavalry regiments and the enduring legacy of Gettysburg.
