19th-Century Apothecary Bottle – “Uva Ursi” Etched Label This antique glass apothecary jar features a boldly gilded and enameled label reading “UVA URSI,” the historical herbal remedy derived from the bearberry plant. Likely dating from the mid-to-late 19th century, the bottle includes its original ground glass stopper and displays a classic cylindrical form common in pharmacy and medical dispensary use. “Uva Ursi” (Latin for “bear’s grape”) was widely used in historical medicine, especially for treating urinary tract ailments. The label is applied in traditional black-and-gold paint under glass with minor wear but remains highly legible and attractive. Measures approximately 12 inches.
