5th Corps Captain with Guitar! 

 

1/6 plate tintype of Union captain, standing in front of a wonderful painted studio backdrop.  He stands at an angle with his hand holding a gauntlet and cane in one hand and the other holds a slouch hat. This officer is wearing a roundabout shell jacket with a silver 5th corps badge on breast.  The neatest aspect of the image is the Guitar which is prominently leaning in the image which is present in the studio and not a portion of the painted backdrop. Wonderful unique image with great clarity containing a Civil War musical instrument.

 

Comes housed in an original complete leatherette case.
