 A Transitional Revolver by Clough & Son Bath

 

Bore Percussion Transitional Six-Shot Revolver signed Clough & Son Bath. With blued octagonal sighted barrel (some minor loss of finish) engraved around the muzzle and with a foliate scroll on the top flat at the breech, signed along the top flat and rifled with fourteen grooves, fluted cylinder with recessed nipples and numbered from ‘1’ to ‘6’, border engraved rounded action with nipple-shield, retaining some strong bluing and decorated with foliate scrollwork, butt and trigger-guard en suite, the former with ovoidal steel cap with hinged circular butt-trap cover engraved with a flower-head, bar-hammer engraved with ropework along the top, chequered near mint condition grips, and most of the original blued finish remaining. Birmingham proof marks.
