Description

Abraham Lincoln Medal by Thomas Elder

Thomas Lindsay Elder (1874-1948) was a designer, numismatist, issuer and dealer in tokens and medals. Elder was among the most prominent and influential American numismatists and coin dealers of the first three decades of the 20th century up to the early 1930’s. This medal depicting a clean-shaven Lincoln was struck in 1924 from aluminum. The reverse bears the legend “Beloved Alike by Rich and Poor” within a laurel wreath. The medal measures 1 ½” and would make a nice addition to an Abraham Lincoln memorabilia collection. Comes housed in a 6 x 8 inch display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
