Antique Stoneware Ginger Beer Bottle – Gray & Co., Portsmouth – Inventory Number: BOT 180 / SOLD This classic two-tone stoneware ginger beer bottle features a rich tan glazed upper section and a cream salt-glazed lower body. Stamped near the base with “GRAY & Co. PORTSMOUTH,” this bottle was produced for a regional bottler or brewer in Portsmouth. Crafted from durable stoneware, these bottles were commonly used for carbonated beverages like ginger beer, prized for their ability to keep contents cool and fresh. The distinctive blob-top design once held a cork or internal stopper. A wonderful example, this piece makes a charming addition to any collection of antique bottles, breweriana, or early English stoneware.
