Description

Brass Militia Belt Plate 

1820s, showing crisp relief to the eagle motif and a warm mustard patina. The reverse is fitted with the original arched brass belt bar and side clasp, all intact. A small pierced holes at the left margin is consistent with a field repair or early museum or GAR-era board mounting. Smooth, even surfaces and untouched solder reinforce its authenticity and early manufacture.
