Bullet in Wood

A fine old souvenir “bullet in wood” from the Battle of the Wilderness. The piece of wood, all that remains of a tree that once stood in the path of the two battling armies, is about 3” long and 1.5” wide. An Enfield bullet is visible as is the path of the projectile through the wood. The wood remains very solid and has a dark patina. A very nice display piece.
