Burnside Breast Plate – Inventory Number: BEL 314 / Sold Wonderful, non-excavated example of what is referred to as the “Burnside” pattern eagle breastplate. “Burnside” plates derive their name from where they are usually discovered- 9th Corps campsites the 9th Corps served under General Burnside. They look like the standard eagle breastplate except they are smaller in diameter.  The lead fill remains in good condition as do both of the iron loops on the back.  Very nice example of this scarce plate!
