Attractive matched pair of Civil War infantry Captain’s shoulder straps featuring a rich dark blue velvet ground with strong color and minimal wear. The borders and double-bar insignia are executed in the distinctive false embroidered brass “jaceron” style commonly associated with the Smith patent pattern, giving the appearance of heavy bullion while retaining a crisp, structured presentation. The brass elements exhibit a mellow, untouched patina that complements the deep velvet field. A well-preserved and visually striking officer’s set, representative of a company-grade infantry officer, combining elegance with classic wartime construction.
