Civil War Apothecary / Gold Scales – Inventory Number: MED 093 / SOLD Cased original brass scales housed in its original velvet lined case with gold embossed American Eagle on the center of the lid.  The balance beam measures about 4 1/2″ long, and there are two brass pans that measure about 2″ in diameter each.    Possibly used by a field doctor, early pharmacist, or to weight gold and silver.
