Civil War U.S. Eagle Breast Plate

Description
Civil War U.S. Eagle Breast Plate
Very nice original Civil War U.S. Eagle breast plate, featuring the classic spread-winged American eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch. The stamped brass face retains a pleasing untouched surface with strong, crisp detail and only light evidence of period use.
This is a particularly desirable non-excavated example, retaining its complete original lead-filled reverse and both original attachment loops. Plates retaining both loops and their full lead backing are increasingly difficult to find, especially in this attractive condition.
A strong, complete example of the classic Union Army eagle breast plate and an essential piece of Civil War accoutrement.
