Confederate Civil War Pocket Pistol Holster 

Original Confederate pocket pistol holster, constructed of dark, well-worn leather and exhibiting the crude, utilitarian characteristics commonly associated with Southern manufacture. The holster features a sharply tapered body with a simple flap closure secured by a single brass stud.

Stitching is intact, and the overall form suggests manufacture intended for a small pocket-sized revolver, such as those commonly carried by Confederate officers and enlisted men alike when regulation equipment was scarce.

Confederate pistol holsters—particularly pocket or small-frame examples—are considerably scarcer than their Union counterparts, as Southern forces relied heavily on local craftsmen, private purchase, and improvised equipment.
