Confederate First National Flag
Attractive display featuring a hand-illustrated rendering of the First National Flag of the Confederate States of America, commonly known as the “Stars and Bars,” used from 1861 to 1863. The flag illustration is executed in ink and color wash beneath a hand-lettered title identifying the Confederate First National Flag.
Below the illustration is a circular window containing two small textile fragments, one red and one buff-colored, traditionally identified as Confederate-era cloth. Although no provenance accompanis these, identical mounted examples were sold by Carey Delary of Louisiana and stated to have come from Richmond, VA.
