Confederate Pigskin Holster for Colt Pocket Pistol 

Original Confederate pigskin holster intended for a Colt pocket-size percussion pistol. Measuring approximately 10 inches in overall length, this holster exhibits the classic Southern wartime characteristics, including coarse pigskin leather construction and a simple, utilitarian form consistent with Confederate manufacture.

The holster remains unrestored and displays honest period wear. The main body seam is completely open, and the belt loop on the reverse is loose at the bottom, reflecting extensive use and age. 

Pigskin holsters are widely recognized as a hallmark of Confederate production due to material shortages in the South, making surviving examples increasingly scarce. Despite its condition issues, this holster remains a strong, authentic relic of Confederate sidearm equipment and would be well suited for a study collection, display, or comparison piece.
