Connecticut Button,   Connecticut National Guard, Officer Staff,   Scovill Mfg Co Waterbury, dm between rings, (22.3mm)  Button depicts script “CNG”, Connecticut National Guard on lined field .   This unit was organized during the war, representing a replacement of state militia units, intended for officers.  Backmark:   “SCOVILL MF’G CO, / WATERBURY.” dm between two rings of dots, ca 1860’s.   Three part officer staff button, coat size, high convex.
