Death of a Soldier – Inventory Number: GRO 013 / SOLD An attractive display from the museum collection of Robert C. Laurens of Pennsylvania whom displayed this in his museum in Wayne, PA.   Housed in a custom made shadowbox frame with its original typed display tag stating:   “Articles excavated in a fence corner at Cold Harbor dating from the —- Battle.   A fully cocked musket lock, a bent butt plate, bayonet scabbard tip, —- infantry insignia.   An iron heel plate, U.S. Belt Plate and Eagle Plate on which a piece of original leather was still attached. It is probable that the soldier was ready to fire but was hit by shell fragment before he could pull the trigger.” Inventory Number: GRO 013 / SOLD
