Excavated U.S. Cartridge Box Plate – Inventory Number: BEL 362 / SOLD Dug U.S. cartridge box plate in exceptionally good condition. The face has a perfectly smooth brown patina. Both iron attachment loops are still present in the lead backing. The plate is very slightly concavely pushed. The original digger’s envelope states that the plate was dug from Doubleday’s position at the junction of the Old Richmond Stage Road and Hamilton’s Crossing in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Plates of this quality are rarely dug today. Comes housed in a 5 x 6 inch display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.   Inventory Number: BEL 362 / SOLD
