Excavated U.S. Eagle Breast Plate from Falmouth, Virginia – Inventory Number: BEL 365 / SOLD Nice, excavated example of the standard regulation eagle breast plate worn by infantryman on the cartridge box sling. The face exhibits high detail and a rich green patina. The reverse still retains both iron attachment hooks. Excavated in Falmouth, Virginia, site of the Army of the Potomac’s encampment during the winter of 1862-1863. Plates in this condition are rarely dug today. Comes housed in a 5 x 6 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.  Inventory Number: BEL 365 / SOLD
