Full-plate tintype of a seated Union cavalry trooper. He wears a cavalry shell jacket with a shortened collar and an 1851 pattern saber belt, and proudly holds his saber in both hands. The image has subtle tinting to the soldier’s cheeks, buttons, and trousers. Housed in 1 9” by 10 ¾” vintage frame. A scarce full-plate cavalry image.
