Gouverneur K. Warren Clipped Signature with Rank

A desirable clipped ink signature of Major General Gouverneur Kemble Warren (1830–1882), one of the Union Army’s most respected combat commanders and the officer forever associated with the defense of Little Round Top at Gettysburg. The autograph is signed “G. K. Warren” and includes his rank, “Major Genl.,” adding historical appeal and confirming the period of his service as a senior Union commander.

Warren, a West Point-trained engineer, played a pivotal role on July 2, 1863, when he recognized the strategic importance of Little Round Top and acted decisively to secure the hill moments before Confederate forces arrived. His quick judgment helped preserve the Union left flank and contributed significantly to the Army of the Potomac’s victory at Gettysburg. He later commanded the V Corps and participated in the Overland Campaign and the Petersburg operations.

A particularly attractive example for display alongside Gettysburg or Little Round Top-related artifacts.
