Militia Cross Belt Plate 

This rectangular brass plate exhibits the classic plain, unmarked face commonly associated with state and local militia units rather than Federal issue.

The front retains a smooth, mellowed brass surface with a deep, untouched patina developed over time. No insignia or lettering is present, consistent with militia plates intended for local or state service. The reverse displays three original applied hooks, affixed with lead solder, all present and undisturbed. The back shows expected oxidation, age toning, and remnants of original solder consistent with period manufacture.
Militia cross belt plates are far less standardized than Federal examples and were often privately purchased or locally produced, making surviving originals increasingly difficult to find.
