New York Button

 

Early state seal, eagle perched over globe, one part convex, Extra Rich Quality, (16mm).  Button depicts the state seal of New York; eagle perched on globe with a ribbon with “EXCELSIOR” motto coming from beak.  The button is made of copper and retains 99% of the original silver wash.  The silver has a bright color, the original shank is intact.  Backmark:   “EXTRA RICH/ (star) QUALITY (star)” dm, concave back.  One-piece convex button, cuff size.  Silver plated.  Excellent silver New York cuff button.
