Original Civil War General’s Buff Silk Sash 

A classic Civil War period general’s sash executed in buff silk, presenting in very good overall condition. The silk retains a rich, mellowed tone with light, even soiling from age and honest use, giving the piece an appealing, untouched look. The fabric remains strong with much of its original luster still visible in the weave, reflecting the quality expected of general officer accoutrements. 

A small hole is present, noted for accuracy, but it is unobtrusive and does not detract from the sash’s overall display or desirability. An increasingly difficult piece to find, offering strong visual presence and unmistakable period character.
