$1,495.00
Description
Remington New Model Army .44 Caliber Revolver
Remington New Model Army .44 caliber revolver displaying a dark-gray patina with fine scattered darker spotting across the steel surfaces. The brass trigger guard retains a warm mustard-yellow tone, providing a pleasing contrast to the aged steel and dark wood grips.
The barrel bears the maker’s address “REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.” and the September 14, 1858 patent date. Serial number 20232 is recorded beneath the barrel, under the loading lever. The revolver retains its brass cone-shaped front sight, dovetailed into the barrel.
The wood grips remain intact, showing dents, dings, and scratches consistent with age and handling, with traces of green verdigris around the grip screw washers. Wear is present near the muzzle. The loading lever and cylinder pin operate smoothly, and the cylinder advances when the hammer is cocked.
Complete with all original parts, this example offers appealing patina and the distinctive solid-frame profile of the Remington Army revolver.
