Revolutionary War Wooden Canteen – Inventory Number: REV 030 / SOLD A large 11 ¼” diameter blue/gray-painted large canteen with thin wooden hoops.  The hoops are in sound condition as are the staves.  There had been a nail added to each of the hoops to ensure they do not slide off.  The top retains a spout with a smaller spout to allow airflow, there are a pair of iron loops for suspension via rope or leather.  A museum inventory number “861” is painted on the face.  Very nice example for display.    Inventory Number: REV 030 / SOLD
