Revolutionary War Wooden Canteen
A large 11 ¼” diameter blue/gray-painted large canteen with thin wooden hoops. The hoops are in sound condition as are the staves. There had been a nail added to each of the hoops to ensure they do not slide off. The top retains a spout with a smaller spout to allow airflow, there are a pair of iron loops for suspension via rope or leather. A museum inventory number “861” is painted on the face. Ex. Valantine Museum, Very nice example for display.
