Wonderful Sweetheart Memento Silver Coin Broken in Two to Share with His Wife Lieutenant Edwin Wise – Inventory Number: IDE 226 / SOLD “This old silver six pence was broken in two by my dearly loved Edwin & me. Was it previous to our marriage. June 1839. And now I am deprived of that lamented affect. (affectionate) husband I shall enclose it and intend, wearing it around my neck till it shall please God to call me to his mercy July 1840 Eliza W.” Preliminary research shows a possible match of a soldier buried in Chattanooga, TN.
