1/6" Plate Ruby Ambrotype of a Georgia Militia Soldier - Inventory Number: HAR 173 / SOLD

Pre-Civil War or early war ruby ambrotype of a militia soldier in full dress uniform, wearing a frock coat with three rows of gilt buttons, epaulettes, and belt with militia style plate. On the side table is a plumed shako with a Georgia state seal arch device on its front. The ambrotype is not covered with glass and has sustained damage to the emulsion. The plate is framed in copper and housed in a full thermoplastic case. A very scarce Georgia militia image.
