Wonderful 1/6th plate ambrotype of a young boy dressed in full zouave regalia, with a kepi resting on the side table nearby. The image is partly tinted red with a halo effect around the perimeter of the plate. The image is framed in a copper mat and housed in a half leatherette case. A great image that speaks to the zouave craze of the 1860s.
