1848 Batty Peace Flask / SOLD

“Peace Flask” decorated with military designs that depict a spread-winged eagle facing to his left perched upon arrows and olive branches. Below this is a pair of clasped hands surrounded by an embossed oval of twenty stars. Directly below the stars is a US shield motif in panoply of flags, cannon, muskets and trumpets. Two brass triangle swivel rings are attached to each side of the flask’s upper neck. A rich bronze patina envelopes the entire flask body and presents a pleasing and handsome appearance. The top is missing the lever to dispense the powder. A nice representative example.
