6th Regiment New York Militia Shoulder Belt Plate - Inventory Number:  BEL 411 / SOLD

Rolled brass shoulder belt plate with beveled edges and four brass attachment loops soldered to the back. The cast brass number “6” is attached to the plate via soldered brass loops and a heavy brass wire. The back is marked “HORSTMANN/PHILa’ This circa 1847-1858 sling plate measures 3 3/8” by 2 ½” and remains in excellent, non-dug condition. Listed as plate 780 in American Military Belt Plates by Michael J. O’Donnell & J. Duncan Campbell. A scarce pre-war plate.

Comes housed in a 6 x 8 inch display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
