Abraham Lincoln Funeral Card – Inventory Number: POL 388

Rare and historically significant funeral card commemorating President Abraham Lincoln, issued shortly after his assassination in April 1865. Measuring approximately 4½” x 3”, this card features a deep black border and embossed tombstone-style frame, with the following solemn inscription:

IN MEMORY OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN,

President of the United States of America.

Born February 12th, 1809.

Died April 15th, 1865.

“With malice toward none, with charity for all.”

– Second Inaugural Address

These cards were distributed at Lincoln’s funeral in the East Room of the White House and along the route of the funeral train to Springfield. Some were handed to dignitaries and mourners in key cities, making them among the most personal and poignant relics from the national mourning period. Excellent condition.
