Abraham Lincoln Style ID Disk - Inventory Number: POL 191 / SOLD

Brass ID disk, 1” in diameter, featuring the portrait of Abraham Lincoln on the obverse with text "ABRAHAM LINCOLN PRESIDENT, U.S.  / WAR OF 1861." Disks such as these were privately purchased by some Civil War soldiers and engraved with identifying information on the reverse. The reverse bears the words ‘TO MY DEAR WIFE.” A wonderful personalized Civil War item. 

Comes housed in a 6 x 8 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
