Scarce pair of patriotic lamps in honor of Admiral Dewey and his victory at the 1898 Battle of Manilla Bay in the Spanish American War. Made from copper and brass, the lamps have the appearance of a naval gun cartridge resting on a pair of crossed cannons. The cartridge section is 8 ¾” by 3 ½”. Stamped on the right side is a battleship surrounded with "ADMIRAL DEWEY'S/ LAMP", and on the left side is a set of crossed flags and an anchor with "REMEMBER/ THE MAINE". In overall good condition with some dings and dents on each. A scarce matching pair.
