Austrian Lorenz Bayonet and Scabbard / SOLD

Socket bayonet with cruciform blade for the Model 1854 Austrian Lorenz rifle-musket, the second most imported longarm issued during the Civil War. The bayonet measures 22” in total length and has been nickel plated, possibly for G.A.R. parade use. The bayonet is housed in an early-war pattern two-rivet scabbard produced specifically for the Lorenz bayonet, with oval shaped body and brass scabbard tip. The scabbard is in good condition with some wear to the bridle leather finish. A nice ensemble for your Lorenz rifle.
