Bass Drum

Bass Drum - Inventory Number: MUS 088

Nice original bass drum manufactured in the 1860's .  This example was shortened after the war and used by the "Keystone Cornet Band of Hoernerstown PA".  Wonderful original Victorian black and gold paint on tattered head.  A nice old ink inscription of the initials "JDP 1891".  Drum measures 29 1/2" x 14".  Affixed to the drum is its original neck sling from the late 1800's.  Nice display piece with a long history.
